Conviction fascinates me.
To have conviction is to possess deep inner confidence.
To be convicted is to be found guilty.
The same word can represent freedom...
and confinement.
There's wisdom hidden in that contradiction.
Can we hold our convictions...
without becoming confined by them?
Conviction gives us direction.
It gives us purpose.
But when we stop examining our convictions...
they can become our boundaries.
Not because they're wrong.
But because we've stopped allowing ourselves to grow with them.
I'm beginning to see that our convictions shape us.
But they shouldn't stop shaping us.
Remaining true to what we know...
while staying open to what we have yet to understand.
Perhaps that's what conviction has been asking of us all along.
Not certainty.
Awareness.
Keep becoming. 🦋
