There are days when you simply need to breathe.
Days when thoughts, decisions, choices, and responsibilities feel heavier than usual.
Recently, I woke up carrying that weight.
My sanctuary has long been a walk outside.
Time spent in nature.
It's where everything feels still.
We find sanctuary in many places.
In nature.
In our homes.
In places of worship.
In the quiet presence of another person.
Sometimes it's found along a familiar path.
Sometimes in complete stillness.
None of these places look the same.Yet they offer us something remarkably similar.
A sense of peace.
A sense of safety.
A place where we can exhale.
The more I reflected, the more I realized sanctuary isn't defined by a place.
It can be physical.
Spiritual.
Emotional.
Perhaps sanctuary is what makes growth possible.
I used to believe sanctuary existed so we could survive.
Now I believe it exists so we can continue to grow.
A place where we can catch our breath before stepping back into it.
Perhaps that's what sanctuary has always been.
The quiet reminder...that we're ready to continue becoming.
Keep becoming. 🦋
